RISE UP AND BUILD ...
We need to rise up and build our marriages!
Husbands:
love your wife "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her" (Ephesians 5:25) "let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself" (Ephesians 5:33)
nourish and cherish her "For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church." (Ephesians 5:29)
dwell with wife with understanding "Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding ... as to the weaker vessel" (1 Peter 3:7)
give her honor "giving honor to the wife ... as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered." (1 Peter 3:7)
Wives:
submit to the headship of your husband "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church ... Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24)
respect him "let the wife see that she respects her husband." (Ephesians 5:33)
love your husband "admonish the young women to love their husbands" (Titus 2:4)
keepers at home "to be ... homemakers" (Titus 2:4-5)
Render due affection to spouse "Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband." (1 Corinthians 7:3)
